Correspondence with Labour MPs mainly concerning the development of Labour's education and employment policies in the run up to the 1997 general election. Includes correspondence concerning Harriet Harman's decision to send her son to a grant maintained grammar school, including handwritten note from Harman to Blunkett; correspondence with Margaret Hodge and others on drafting Labour's Early Years' policy; letters to Michael Meacher and others regarding drafting the employment policy section of the Labour party document 'Road to the Manifesto' - includes draft entitled 'building prosperity-social justice and fairness at work'; meeting minutes and papers of the Labour Party Education Forum (June 1996); correspondence with Bridget Prentice concerning draft policy document on the careers service - including copy of the draft 'Careers Guidance in the 21st Century'; and correspondence concerning transfer of Greg Pope from role as Education Whip and replacement with Clive Betts.
