Scope and Contents

First phase summary report titled 'In Fair Health? A Pilot Study of the Health and Wellbeing Status of Travelling Showpeople in Two Locales', written by Professor Margaret Greenfields, Sheldon Chadwick, Dr David Smith and Sophie Coker. The report presents initial findings a research project undertaken by The Showmen's Mental Health Awareness Charity in partnership with Anglia Ruskin University. It was the first known study of the health status, needs and perceptions of wellbeing for travelling showmen in the United Kingdom. The study was carried out across the two fieldwork localities of Greater Manchester and Cambridgeshire between June 2022 and August 2023. The report was published in October 2023. Findings are illustrated with quotes from participants and photographs, 56pp.
