Biography

Anthony Young was a Panorama manager who worked for Moses Gompertz. While working for Gompertz, Anthony met the Poole brothers, Charles (1821-1877) and George Walter (1828-1877) with whom he created a business partnership and started their own Panorama called Poole & Young in the early 1860s.

Anthony Young married Emily Antonia Walker who was a vocalist performing during the interludes of Panorama shows.

The Poole & Young partnership lasted until 1875 when Anthony and Charles were bought out of the business by George Walter. Anthony continued working in the sector as a Licensed Victualler until his death in February 1878 at Gravesend, Kent.
