Biographical / Historical
The Centre was founded at the University of Sheffield in 1995 by Professor Gerald Newton, and was endorsed by Jacques Santer, former Prime Minister and European Commissioner. The collection was assembled by Professor Newton to support the teaching and research of the Centre for Luxembourg Studies, based in the Department of Germanic Studies.
