Minutes and papers of the NEC, Labour's governing body which oversees the direction of the party and the policy-making process. Blunkett was a member of the NEC from August 1983 to July 1998,and was elected Chair of the Labour Party for the year 1993 to 1994, with responsibility for chairing both NEC meetings and national party conferences. Contains minutes and papers from the monthly meetings of the NEC and some of its sub-committee including the following committees: Home Policy, Finance and General Purpose Committee, Organisation, International, Disputes, Youth, Communications, Women's, Staff Negotiations and Campaign Strategy.
