Press cuttings and other material relating to David Blunkett's leadership of Sheffield City Council and membership of the Labour Party's NEC. Includes material relating to: expulsion of Militant members from the Labour Party, including copy of 'Witch Hunt News' published by the Labour Left Co-ordination and the Campaign for Labour Party Democracy, January 1986; NEC inquiry into the Liverpool Labour Party, February 1986; public ownership including pamphlet entitled 'The Case for Public Ownership', September 1986 published by the Campaign for Labour Party Democracy and a draft [article] by Blunkett entitled 'Labour's values for ownership and democracy', January 1986; rate-capping, and the possible inclusion of Sheffield on the government's 'hit list' of overspending councils to be singled out for further financial restriction in 1987-1988, July 1986.
