Scope and Contents
Correspondence and papers relating to Blunkett's tenure as Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, a post he held from May 2005 when Labour were elected to a third term of government, until November 2005 when he was forced to resign from office over allegation that he broke the ministerial code of conduct over paid work he took while out of the Cabinet. See also 467/8 for individual letters and press cuttings relating to this period, and file 467/1/1/15 relating to correspondence with the DWP before and after the period where he was Secretary of State. Official papers from the DWP for this period will be available from The National Archives from 2026? onwards.
