Correspondence and papers concerning the World Student Games (also known as the Universiade) which was held in Sheffield in July 1991. Mainly contains correspondence, reports and press cuttings dating from 1987 to 1992 concerning the planning and financing of the Games, but also contains some material relating to the 10 year anniversary in 2001. Includes correspondence between David Blunkett, officials at Sheffield Council, members of the Labour Group at Sheffield Council, and government ministers. Also includes a copy of the Briefing Pack for the Sheffield delegation's bid for the Games to be held in Sheffield, 1987; and copies of the International University Sports Federation (FISU) bulletin/magazine.
