Scope and Contents
Typescript report with handwritten amendments titled ' Report of Captain H.S. Spencer, Royal Irish Fusiliers, late Political Officer, British Adriatic Mission, in regard to certain experiences in Rome in May 1917'. Contains details of an alleged intelligence intrigue in Venice, and a German-British Jewish plot to stage the war to take control of industry under the guise of a League of Nations. A handwritten covering note on War Office notepaper states that Spencer was 'ordered to Salonica where I... was put under guard as a "mental case" by orders from Rome. Signed by Spencer and dated August 1917.
