Material mainly concerns Blunkett's role as a local MP and contains correspondence with constituents, officials/councillors from Sheffield City Council and local businesses where Blunkett has forwarded concerns to the relevant government department. However, the series also contains some correspondence from organisations and members of the public from outside of the Sheffield area, who have chosen to write to Blunkett at his constituency office rather than at Westminster and relate to his wider roles within the shadow cabinet and then cabinet.
