The Little Green Man or the Bath Bugabo or the Widows Terror, 30 January 1802
Scope and Contents
By Charles Williams. A street scene. Three comely ladies in black flee in terror from a little man (left) wearing a green coat and green spectacles; two wear long floating veils and two hold huge muffs. They say, respectively: "O Lord the Monster"; "O dear the Monster"; "The Monster The Monster". He bends forward to stare intently at one of the ladies; he is fashionably dressed, wearing top-boots. Behind is the lower part of a stone huildine, an arched doorway flanked by high windows. On each side of the door are placards headed 'Hot Bath' and 'Cold Bath'. Description from the British Museum.
