A hand-coloured print of a woman who, in a state of semi-undress, enters a sitting room to find her husband still up and sitting by the fire, smoking and drinking. Under the man's elbow is a pamphlet open on the page 'Miseries of Human Life'. Under the table, a dog barks at a startled cat.
