Scope and Contents

Blaess says the postal services were weird that week: she received a letter late, and another one early. She says it's really cold and she had 4 or 5 blankets on her bed. She didn't like the boy Norah introduced her to. She describes Cyrano, she liked it and might read the book now. Her and Norah met with a friend and she describes her house, the tea, and the street. She lent Mme Lecolletier (the British girl who's friend with Norah and Blaess) some books and drank coffee with her. The girl told her a legend about King Arthur, and Blaess was interested in that. She then exposes some theories she has about Arthur. Blaess also tells her parents about a miraculous health recovery that is linked to Arthur: she has been interested in Yoga and druids for a while and thinks Arthur a yogi & druid. Mme Lecolletier says her own mother had been saved (arthritis) by a mysterious polish doctor that knew about yoga etc. Mme Lecolletier thought she would be interested to know that. Blaess now wants to meet him. She says the meeting with Cohen went well: he is happy with her notes and is astounded by the resemblance between Blaise and Blaess. The latter is happy because Cohen doesn't seem to think it is a coincidence. She is sad because she needs to read the original Merlin books but they cost 1200 francs. She needs to find someone to copy and translate them (especially Huth Merlin) for her but can't find anyone. She got scared because Cohen reminded her she needs to be studying Merlin and Arthur in every languages (French, German, Gaelic, Spanish...). She is thinking of copying them herself. She got surprised by sirens one day because she hadn't read the papers and thought it was an alert. The commander came back and she is happy because now the conversation is more stimulating, and he keeps teasing her. It snowed in Paris. She is fine. She asks about her parents. She adds two post-scripts.
