Scope and Contents

Black and white photographs, some annotated on the reverse, and photographic negatives, relating to Walter Marshall’s service with the Royal Air Force during the Second World War. Includes photographs of him in uniform and the men he served alongside, shown on active service, in camp, at leisure and playing sports, interspersed with photographs and postcards of landscapes, buildings, historic sites, streets, local people, military vehicles, aeroplanes, and war graves, collected whilst he was stationed in the Middle East (1942 -1943). Accompanied by studio portrait photographs of Renee Marshall (nee Scott) and Walter Marshall in uniform, shown with their daughter, Sandra Marshall (later Wright) [1939 - 1942], a photograph of a wedding of an unidentified couple (c1930 - 1940), three photographs of two unidentified men on stage possibly performing in a pantomime (c1930 - 1950), and a promotional postcard, showing Tom Kayes with a lion cub (c1930 - 1950).
