Scope and Contents

Hemel Hempstead, Tuesday 19 March. The wolves that scaped and killed the favourite horse Shrewsbury and other animals at the theatre in London on February 11th 1888 and were recaptured by Alpine Charles will appear at both morning and evening performances. Colour illustration of scene of wolves attacking horses and other animals, including exotic animals, inside a building and men with whips and sticks, red and black type. Note on reverse: 'Very rare poster, Lord George Sanger, The Wolves, Presented by heirs, F. Sanger Reeve'. Printed by David Allen and Sons Printer Belfast and London.
