Biography

He became connected early with the stage, having played “Young Norvel” in Liverpool, aged just five. He acted many parts in his younger years before taking a short break. He returned in August 1846 before stage managing the Theatre Royal, Sheffield. He brought the play ‘Slavery’ to the theatre, which was a version of Harriet Beecher Stowe’s “Uncle Tom’s Cabin”. He was married and had a son, Lionel who was killed in World War I. Stanislaus died in 1901
