Biography
The Putney Cinema was located in Putney, London. By 1910 it was known as the Putney Electric Cinema and in 1929 it was renamed the Globe Kinema.
The Globe was purchased by the Compton Cinemas Group in 1968 and reopened after refurbishment the following year as the CineCenta Cinema. In 1969 it was renamed Cine Club 24 and began screening uncensored films until 1971 when it went resumed regular projections and retook the CineCenta Cinema name. The cinema closed in 1976 and was demolished soon after.
